NootRX

NootRX is a Lilu plugin that enables AMD RDNA 2 dedicated GPU support on macOS, targeting Navi 21, 22, and 23 GPUs for hardware acceleration and display output.

Overview

AMD RDNA 2 dedicated GPUs (Navi 21, 22, 23 — including RX 6600, 6600 XT, 6700 XT, 6800, 6800 XT, 6900 XT) are not natively supported by macOS. NootRX patches the AMD GPU driver stack to enable hardware acceleration and display output for these dedicated RDNA 2 GPUs on macOS Monterey and later.

Installation

1. Install Lilu first
2. Download the latest release from GitHub
3. Copy NootRX.kext to EFI/OC/Kexts/
4. Add the kext to your config.plist under Kernel > Add
5. Ensure Lilu is loaded before NootRX
6. Reboot your system
