HS80211Family

HS80211Family is a modified version of Apple’s IO80211Family.kext (renamed to avoid conflicts) that enables Atheros WiFi support on macOS Big Sur and later. It is a required companion kext for all AirPortAtheros40 variants. Inject via OpenCore alongside the appropriate AirPortAtheros40.kext.

Features

• Atheros WiFi on Big Sur+: Enables Atheros WiFi chipsets on macOS Big Sur, Monterey, and Ventura
• Conflict-Free: Renamed from IO80211Family to HS80211Family to avoid conflicts with Apple’s native framework
• Required Companion: Must be used alongside any AirPortAtheros40 variant kext

Installation

1. Download the kext from GitHub
2. Download the appropriate AirPortAtheros40 variant for your chipset (see Related Kexts below)
3. Copy both HS80211Family.kext and your AirPortAtheros40 kext to EFI/OC/Kexts/
4. Add both kexts to your config.plist under Kernel > Add
5. Reboot your system
