AtherosOTHER

AtherosOTHER is a patched version of Apple’s AirPortAtheros40.kext with device ID support for various older Atheros WiFi chipsets including AR5418/5133, AR8297, AR9280, AR9281, AR9283, AR9285, AR9287, and AR9380. Requires HS80211Family for macOS Big Sur and later.

Installation

  1. Download the kext from GitHub
  2. Download HS80211Family (required for macOS Big Sur and later)
  3. Copy both AirPortAtheros40-update.kext and HS80211Family.kext to EFI/OC/Kexts/
  4. Add both kexts to your config.plist under Kernel > Add
  5. Reboot your system
