Starskiff

Starskiff is a menu-bar Wi-Fi client for the Feixiao Realtek driver. It provides a graphical interface for scanning, connecting, and managing Wi-Fi networks on Realtek PCIe cards.

Overview

Starskiff is forked from HeliPort (the Intel Wi-Fi GUI) and adapted to work with Feixiaoโ€™s rtw88 driver. It communicates directly with the rtw88 kext user-client for scanning, connecting, disconnecting, and status reporting.

Requirements

  • Feixiao driver must be installed and loaded first
  • A supported Realtek PCIe Wi-Fi card

Features

  • Menu-bar Integration: Access Wi-Fi controls from the macOS menu bar
  • Network Scanning: Scan and list available 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks
  • WPA2 Connect: Connect to WPA2-Personal/CCMP networks
  • Status Reporting: View interface name, chip name, firmware version, SSID, BSSID, channel, and RSSI
  • Password Management: Secure password storage via macOS Keychain

Installation

  1. Download the latest release from GitHub
  2. Open the .dmg file
  3. Drag Starskiff to your Applications folder
  4. Ensure Feixiao is installed and loaded
  5. Launch Starskiff from the menu bar
