RealtekCardReaderFriend

RealtekCardReaderFriend is a Lilu plugin that makes macOS System Information recognize the Realtek card reader as a native built-in device. Requires RealtekCardReader v0.9.5+.

Overview

While the RealtekCardReader kext enables Realtek card reader functionality on macOS, the card reader may still appear as a third-party device in System Information. RealtekCardReaderFriend patches the system profiler to recognize the Realtek card reader as a native built-in device, providing a cleaner and more authentic system experience.

Installation

1. Install Lilu first
2. Install RealtekCardReader v0.9.5 or later (required dependency)
3. Download the latest release from GitHub
4. Copy RealtekCardReaderFriend.kext to EFI/OC/Kexts/
5. Add the kext to your config.plist under Kernel > Add
6. Ensure Lilu and RealtekCardReader are loaded before RealtekCardReaderFriend
7. Reboot your system
