IntelBTPatcher

IntelBTPatcher is a Lilu plugin that patches Intel Bluetooth functionality on macOS Monterey and later, handling encryption for Bluetooth 5.x modules and fixing compatibility issues. Requires IntelBluetoothFirmware.

Overview

Starting with macOS Monterey, Apple made significant changes to the Bluetooth stack that broke compatibility with many Intel Bluetooth modules, particularly Bluetooth 5.x variants. IntelBTPatcher patches the macOS Bluetooth framework to restore functionality for these modules, handling the encryption handshake and other protocol changes introduced in newer macOS versions.

Installation

1. Install Lilu first
2. Install IntelBluetoothFirmware (required dependency)
3. Download the latest release from GitHub
4. Copy IntelBTPatcher.kext to EFI/OC/Kexts/
5. Add the kext to your config.plist under Kernel > Add
6. Ensure Lilu and IntelBluetoothFirmware are loaded before IntelBTPatcher
7. Reboot your system
