This is a utility tool, NOT a kext. It does not need to be installed in your EFI.

Hackintool is the โ€œSwiss army knifeโ€ of Hackintosh utilities. It provides system information, Intel framebuffer patching, USB mapping, audio layout ID patching, PCI device monitoring, and much more.

Overview

Hackintool consolidates many common Hackintosh tasks into a single macOS application. Whether you need to patch your Intel GPU framebuffer, map USB ports, identify audio codecs, or generate serial numbers, Hackintool has a tool for it.

Installation

  1. Download the latest release from GitHub
  2. Open the downloaded ZIP file
  3. Drag Hackintool to your Applications folder
  4. On first launch, you may need to right-click and select Open to bypass Gatekeeper

Usage

Framebuffer Patching

  1. Open Hackintool and go to the Patch tab
  2. Select your Intel GPU platform
  3. Configure connector types, framebuffer data, and VRAM
  4. Export patches for Clover or OpenCore

USB Mapping

  1. Go to the USB tab
  2. Plug USB devices into each port to discover them
  3. Set connector types for each port
  4. Export a USBPorts.kext

FAQ

Is Hackintool still maintained?

Yes, Hackintool is actively maintained with regular updates supporting the latest macOS versions and Intel platforms.

Can Hackintool replace USBToolBox?

They serve different purposes. Hackintoolโ€™s USB mapping works from macOS, while USBToolBox can map from Windows (recommended). Hackintool is better for quick diagnostics and framebuffer patching.
